Kanoa MES 1.15 is now available - and this is one of the most significant expansions of the Kanoa MES platform to date.
This release introduces two new licensed solutions: Kanoa Maintenance and Kanoa Inventory. It also adds Measures, a new platform feature for capturing and analyzing process measurements at scale, along with improvements across Kanoa Ops, Kanoa Quality, Kanoa Trace, and the broader platform.
Together, these additions extend Kanoa MES into more of the work required to operate a modern manufacturing plant—while preserving the modular, Ignition-native architecture that lets teams start with the capabilities they need and expand over time.
Two New Solutions for the Kanoa MES Platform

Kanoa Ops remains the required operational foundation for Kanoa MES. With version 1.15, manufacturers can now extend that foundation with dedicated solutions for maintenance and inventory management, alongside Kanoa Quality and Kanoa Trace.
These are independent add-on solutions. Manufacturers can adopt either one according to their needs, or use them together to connect maintenance work with the parts consumed to complete it.
Introducing Kanoa Maintenance
Kanoa Maintenance brings maintenance management directly into the Kanoa MES and Ignition environment.
Maintenance teams can plan, schedule, assign, execute, and analyze work without separating maintenance activity from the production context surrounding it. Work is performed against the same plant and asset hierarchy used throughout Kanoa MES, making it easier to understand maintenance performance alongside production, downtime, quality, and other operational data.
Kanoa Maintenance includes capabilities for:
-
Corrective, preventive, and one-time maintenance work
-
Reusable work order templates and recurring schedules
-
Priority, assignment, status, and due-date management
-
Digital procedures and required completion checks
-
Technician comments, images, labor, and activity history
-
Mobile-ready work-order execution
-
Maintenance analytics including MTTA, MTTR, MTBF, backlog aging, workload distribution, and work-order flow
When Kanoa Inventory is also licensed, teams can issue spare parts directly from maintenance work orders and preserve a transaction history connecting the part, asset, location, and maintenance activity.

Introducing Kanoa Inventory
Kanoa Inventory provides plant-level visibility and control for parts, stock, locations, suppliers, transactions, and stocking policies.
Manufacturers can define the parts they need to manage, organize stock across storerooms and bins, establish stocking rules, and preserve the context behind every inventory movement.
Kanoa Inventory includes capabilities for:
-
Part definitions and categories
-
Consumable, critical, serialized, and repairable classifications
-
Manufacturers and suppliers
-
Units of measure and cost centers
-
Inventory locations and bins
-
On-hand, reserved, on-order, and available quantities
-
Minimums, maximums, reorder points, reorder quantities, safety stock, and cycle-count policies
-
Receipts, issues, adjustments, returns, transfers, and transaction history
-
Model- and asset-level equipment bills of materials
Kanoa Inventory and Kanoa Trace answer different manufacturing questions. Inventory helps teams understand what they have and where it is. Trace provides the production genealogy needed to understand how materials and work in progress became a finished product.

Capture Process Data at Scale with Measures
Version 1.15 also introduces Measures, a new feature included through Kanoa Ops.
Measures lets teams capture process measurements, aggregate samples over a configurable window, and preserve useful statistical properties without requiring every raw sample to become a separate database record. Aggregation windows can be defined by sample count or duration, helping manufacturers manage high-frequency process data while retaining the context needed for analysis.
Measures can support use cases such as:
-
Temperature, pressure, speed, weight, and other process-variable monitoring
-
Trend and distribution analysis
-
Hourly variation and rolling-average analysis
-
Sample-count consistency and gap analysis
-
Comparison against target or golden-run conditions
With a Kanoa Quality license, Measures can be extended with SPC capabilities to identify and surface out-of-control conditions.

Platform and Deployment Improvements
Kanoa MES 1.15 includes more than the new solutions.
The release introduces the Kanoa Calendar component, incorporated directly into the Kanoa MES module. This replaces the previously required BIJC calendar component, simplifying the supporting module stack for new and upgraded deployments.
Version 1.15 also adds support for redundant Kanoa configurations and includes improvements across:
-
Production and shift scheduling
-
Asset and item configuration
-
Dashboard and navigation behavior
-
Quality forms, details, triggers, and analysis
-
Trace graphs, lot states, and lot operations
-
Performance and reliability analytics
-
Dark-mode consistency and general usability
-
Installer behavior, APIs, database performance, and system stability
Kanoa MES 1.15 is available for supported Ignition 8.1 and Ignition 8.3 environments. Existing customers and integrators should review the implementation guidance and function-signature changes in the complete release notes before upgrading customized systems.
