About Us
MES for the Masses
For over 25 years, we have seen different manufacturers implementing various software solutions, all to varying degrees of success, yet they rarely achieve the lofty goals they were meant to provide. We came to the realization that there is no perfect, commercial, off-the-shelf manufacturing software solution. It simply does not exist. Every company has different needs, different business processes, different enterprise resource planning systems, quality systems, inventory systems, and data flows; all which need to be connected in a specific way to satisfy their unique environment.
Building custom software from scratch is not the answer either. That has been the approach of large manufacturers, who have been forced into developing their own in-house solutions. Over time, the software becomes obsolete, the knowledge of how the systems work goes away, and user expectations change. The in-house developers have either retired or work somewhere else.
If you can’t buy it and you don’t want to build it from scratch, what are your choices? This is where Kanoa comes in. We built an Industry 4.0 enabling framework which sits on top of Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform. Ignition provides the support for connecting to any type of data source and our applications provide value out-of-the-box while remaining open and flexible so it adapts to your unique manufacturing environment. Kanoa provides a mobile responsive web application replete with built-in security, navigation, language support, asset management, product management, shift management, production scheduling, production order management, production analytics, quality management and SPC.
Kanoa will help you realize your lean manufacturing goals and give your teams the technology tools they need to work in a smarter, more connected manufacturing world.
Kanoa Consulting was established in October 2018 by Jason and Nicole Coope. After 20 years of working for organizations in the manufacturing and software industries, Jason was ready to start a business as a consultant, focused primarily on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Nicole was a multi-business entrepreneur in family law and community counseling, and was ready to join forces with Jason to create a new company. Jason and Nicole met in 1998 in the semiconductor industry at GEC Plessey in Plymouth, England. After 20 years of working in a variety of positions, they were both ready to work together on this new business, which they named Kanoa (pronounced Ka-NOH-ah), meaning “Free One”.
